THE ALPS RACE

Cycling passion for everybody

The Alps. The roads. The road bike. In a unique way, PEAKBREAK – The Alps Race, combines these three facts to give you an unforgettable experience full of competition and passion. Since its first holding back in 2008, PEAKBREAK developed itself into an internationally recognised cycling tour for amateurs where we are always trying to offer you new roads with challenging moutaintop finishes. In 2012 we proudly received the award for the „Best Sporting Event“ in Austria and since then PEAKBREAK was broadcasted in over 40 TV-Stations all over the world.

PEAKBREAK – The Alps Race offers legendary climbs, pure emotions and first class hospitality during the race in a cycling tour for everybody. The passion for road cycling and the challenge to overcome about 15 alp passes attracted participants from over 20 countries.

Annualy The Alps Race starts at the beginning of July in the south of Austria. Anchor points during the race are e.g. „Hohen Tauern, karnische Alpen and the Dolomites. As an absolute highlight we yearly pedal over the Glockner which is the highest pass in Austria.

Traditionally, PEAKBREAK – The Alps Race starts in Carinthia, where also a lot of stages take place. Insider also call it „The Tour of Carinthia“. The Race gives the participants an unique opportunity to feel the emotions cycling on the legandary roads of the „Giro d’Italia“ and the Tour of Austria.

This „race for everybody“ should always be in the CV of every passionate cyclist.

Event 2017

This year we came up with a totally new structure for the „cycling marathon“ which includes new roads that even insider haven’t heard off or even road on. Six out of eight stages will end in a mountaintop finish where we were also able to include not one but two individual time trials. For the first time PEAKBREAK will start at the Warmbad/Villach in the middle of Carinthia.
